About us...
Run by our members and led by our three Elders, Chagford Gospel Church is a thriving place of worship where all are encouraged to take part. We believe in a personal relationship with God, made possible by the life, death and resurrection of his Son, Jesus Christ.
We are affiliated to the Partnership UK network of churches - a nationwide group committed to encouraging local churches, in spiritual vitality, effectiveness, growth and church-planting. We also meet regularly with Christians Together in Chagford & District. In addition, our church is involved with and supports our eccumenical youth worker project "On the Edge".
Our services are relaxed and informal, and although planned, there is plenty of room for the Holy Spirit to move. Services include a time of teaching given by one of our fellowship or a visiting speaker. A Sunday Club is also run for children. Apart from the Sunday meetings, we meet regularly for prayer and teaching and enjoy additional fellowship together through church lunches, an annual church away day and summer BBQ’s.
We place great value on our community and the relationships within it. During term time we run a weekly Toast Club - a toddler and baby group where we enjoy spending time chatting, playing and eating copious amounts of jammy toast with our local mums, dads and tots (and of course grandparents, childminders etc are always welcome too!). In addition, once a month there is an opportunity for our more senior residents in the Chagford area to meet for tea and a chat at 'JAM' (Jesus And Me); an informal time to catch up and which can include singing, a short presentation, testimonies etc.
Chagford Gospel Church is overseen by a Board of Trustees, and as a registered place of worship we have charitable status.
